| Description: |
This is a 109 km (68 miles) canoe trip on the Mistassibi North East in the north of Lac St-Jean region. Located south of Machisque Lake, the river has many rapids and long interspersed with quiet sections of reasonable length. Two days have many R2 and R3. Long sections of R1 and R1-2 witches are very quick. |
| Day 1: |
We leave Grandes-Piles at 9.00AM. Transfer on mini-bus to Dolbeau-Mistassini (325 km). We continue to point up-to-water on a forest road over a distance of 239 km (at km 158 of the River Mistassibi NE). Arrival at 6.00 PM to camping. |
| Day 2: |
We start on the River at the km 158 to stop at Km 136, Camping. This day has many rapids class R1 to R3, two thresholds grades 3 and two thresholds grades 2. |
| Day 3: |
We start on the river at Km 136 to stop at Km 110, Camping. This is a quiet and fast day because the first section is narrow; the second one is more open until the last part of white water. |
| Day 4: |
We start at km 110 to finish at Km 86. Camping on the beach. The first section of the day has couples rapids class R2 and R3 and the second section is just white water until camping. |
| Day 5: |
We start on the river at Km 86 to stop at km 68 or 64, depending on the site conditions. Camping on the beach. This section of the river has many successions of R1 and R2. |
| Day 6: |
Early start on the river at Km 64 to finish the trip at Km 50. Exit of the river, lunch time and beginning of the way back. Our driver and mini-bus will be there around 11.00AM. Road to Grandes-Piles and arrival around 7.00PM. |
| Difficulty level: |
Intermediate, ideal for people in good physical form and having already paddled. This is a remote canoe trip far from any sign of civilization! |

| What to bring: |
Comfortable clothes with sleeves and long pants to protect you from sun and insects. Try to avoid cotton clothing, they are slow to dry and do not retain heat.

- T-shirt, shorts, pants (synthetic)
- Swim suit
- Fleece jacket
- Underwears
- Rain cover
- Shoes or sandals
Accessories:
- Small pillow if needed
- Flashlight or headlamp
- Toiletries
- Insects repellant

Technical tip:
- Water Shoes or sandals that can go in water (ideally covered toes)
Bring clothes for the day will get wet and spare dry clothes for the evening.
Other:
- Bottle of one liter of water minimum
- Camera (may be wet)
- Sunscreen Sunglasses
- Hat or cap

The stay will take place whatever the weather (unless extreme).Dress according to the temperature of the water and air, there are risks of bad weather. |
| Weather: |
In summer, in this region, it can get very hot day and cool at night. In the forest, it is advisable to dress in clothes with long sleeves and long pants. The rain may be possible! |
| Cancellation and specifications: |
- Safety requires the participants; we reserve the right to change the itinerary.
- If the temperature is inadequate, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone a trip.
- In case of cancellation from you within 7 days before departure, we are obliged to charge you 20% of the total delivery.
- In case of cancellation from you within 48 hours before departure, we are obliged to charge you the full benefit.
